A mural on the edge of MacArthur Park Lake, and a Warner Brothers camera pointed at it.
ABC was a temporary mural, made in 1989 in the middle of the Metro Red Line excavation that tore up Central Los Angeles. Three years later it was filmed for FALLING DOWN — her own resume records it as a mural shot, and the estate has ruled the line refers to this wall.
It is the earliest evidence of her work reaching an audience that had no idea it was looking at a Barbara Romain. A painting made for a construction site, on a lake shore, in a city taking itself apart, that ended up in a major American feature.
Her resumes carry it from 2007 onward, and she never stopped listing the screen credit.
