Paradise, painted on eight feet of unstretched canvas, with the names of her medical marijuana written across it in letters a foot high.
Barbara started this one in her Los Angeles basement studio and wrote about it in her own diary: it's about marriage, love, paradise and falling from grace. A border of flowers surrounds a light green field covered edge to edge in text — the lyrics to My Romance and Woodstock, the names of famous couples from Antony and Cleopatra to Mickey and Minnie, and an alphabet poem she wrote herself that runs Adam Barely Curious Dwelt Eve's Fruitful Garden.
A small Adam and a small Eve stand in the middle. He says it's not my fault. She says it's not my fault. The snake says don't blame me. The apple says bite me.
The alphabet poem she wrote for it runs the whole way from A to Z, and she painted it onto the canvas in full:
