Her Hendrix painting — six feet square, and one of the few visual-music works whose song is beyond dispute.
Barbara filed it herself under Visual Music, the group she built beside Hard Rain, Children of the Revolution, Soul-Etude, A Merman I Should Turn 2B, Bad Eye on the Good Foot and When the Music's Over. Read together, that list is a record of what she listened to while she worked, and Purple Haze is its loudest entry.
