Four words in stencilled capitals, laid over a whole surface of cursive writing in pink, crimson, silver and black. The capitals are the loudest thing in the painting and the hardest to read as language — by the time a letter is that big and that layered it has become a shape. Underneath, her own running script fills every gap, surfacing and going under again.
The title is the argument. A picture is worth a thousand words, and she answered by painting a thousand words and making them the picture.
